Jordan visits to assess the job, then provides a written quote. Once agreed, a start date is arranged. On the day, furniture is moved and protected, surfaces are prepared (filled, sanded, primed where needed), and the decorating work is carried out. The site is tidied thoroughly before Jordan leaves, and you'll have the chance to walk around and check everything before he does.

For large or heavy items it's helpful if you can move them beforehand, but Jordan will move lighter furniture and always uses dust sheets to protect floors, carpets and belongings. If you're unsure, just ask when booking.

Jordan uses quality trade paints that provide good coverage, durability and finish. If you have a preference for a specific brand or colour range, that can usually be accommodated — just mention it when you're discussing the job.

Preparation is where the quality of a paint job is really determined. Skipping or rushing it — leaving cracks unfilled, surfaces unsanded or bare wood unprimed — means the finish looks uneven and the paint is more likely to peel or fail early. Jordan treats preparation as an integral part of every job, not an add-on.

Some dust and disruption is inevitable during surface preparation (sanding in particular), but Jordan takes care to contain it — rooms are masked where possible, dust sheets are used throughout, and areas are tidied at the end of each day. He'll also flag in advance if any part of the work is likely to be particularly disruptive.

If walls are being repainted, old wallpaper usually needs to come off first — painting over it rarely produces a good result. Stripping and any follow-on plaster repair can be included in the job; Jordan will assess what the walls need when he visits.
